Collection and Use of Personal Information

As part of the membership process, WAIB obtains users’ contact information (name, email address, mailing address, phone and fax number) from AIB. AIB’s membership form also includes several optional fields that related to the member’s areas of interest and current affiliations.  The contact information and the optional fields are also made available on an online directory, a membership benefit for networking purposes, and is only accessible to the current members of AIB.

Collection and Use of Electronic Information

WAIB’s Internet servers collect a variety of non-personal information as part of their standard operation from visitors of the site. This information includes the IP address of the visitor, the browser being used, the time of the visit, and the pages on the site being visited. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web site, and to conduct basic statistical analysis at an aggregate level in order to make future enhancements to WAIB’s web site.

In addition, our site may use “cookies” to keep track of a visitor’s ongoing access to the site. These “cookies” include only information that relates to the user’s current visit to the site and to ensure that only members can access the members-only parts of the web site. If a user does not wish to allow cookies to be used, most browsers have options to disable their use. However, members will no longer be able to login to the website to access members-only benefits, if cookies are indeed disabled.
